ROOF INSULATION

Remak® Green Roof
Green roofs are growing in popularity these days due to their main benefits: helping to reduce dependence on air conditioner or cooling system during the summer, cut down energy consumption and carbon emissions to the environmentand, improve the thermal insulation and provide shade for buildings. The combination of growing media, plants and air in the green roof system also provides excellent sound insulation, resulting in a more peaceful office environment, especially in urban areas.
Remak® XPS board is made from closed-cell structure extruded polystyrene offering high R-values and excellent compressive strength. Even if exposed to severe weather conditions, our XPS Foam preserves its physical and thermal properties thanks to its high-density porous structure and low moisture absorption. Placed below the ground but above a concrete ceiling, Remak® XPS can create a thermal barrier and improve the building energy efficiency.

Flat roof
Concrete ceiling or concrete roof is the place that is directly exposed to the sun and absorbs the most heat in buildings. When sunlight hits the concrete ceiling, the heat will be absorbed and stored in the concrete ceiling and then it will radiate heat to under the concrete floor, which the lower temperature. As a result, it makes the room temperature rise, hot and stifling.
Our Remak® XPS foam board has a 99% closed cell ratio, creating a vacuum layer to prevent air flow and heat loss or intrusion, making it become a physical insulation material. With a range of excellent features, our XPS insulation boards are suitable for both steel and concrete structures.

Tiled roof
Tiled roofs are commonly used in Vietnam, but not everyone knows how to resist heat for tiled roofs and many people are not interested in thermal insulation for tile roof houses. Therefore, when it’s sunny, the indoor temperature can be up to 56ºC.
Houses with roof tiles are often very heavy; thus, when choosing insulation materials you should choose light materials but have high thermal insulation capacity. Remak® XPS meets all of the above conditions: good insulation and lightweight, so it is best suited for tiled roof insulation. In addition, Remak® XPS has a water permeability of less than 1%, minimizing the growth of mold, increasing the lifespan of your building.
Tiled concrete roof
Tiled concrete roof is the most commonly used modern roof type today. It has main advantages, such as: good waterproof, extreme weather resistance.
Remak® XPS board is made from closed-cell structure extruded polystyrene offering high R-values and excellent compressive strength. The product is suitable for tiled concrete roof insulation. Even when faced with extreme weather conditions, our XPS Foam preserves its physical and thermal properties thanks to its high-density porous structure and low water absorption. Metal roof
Vietnam is located in the tropical monsoon climate area, which is hot and humid all year round. For buildings using corrugated iron roofs, there is often a very high risk of heat absorption, especially in the hot summer, the indoor temperature can reach 50 – 60ºC, affecting human health. So, we should use heat insulation solutions for the corrugated iron roof.
Remak® XPS Foam board is made from closed extruded polystyrene offering high R-value and impressive compressive strength. The product is suitable for insulating corrugated iron roofs with a number of excellent features, like low heat transfer value K = 0.028 – 0.03W/mK, light weight, ease of cutting, high compressive strength, good waterproofing ability and moisture resistance.
Bitum roof
One of the roofing materials that is quite new and used for many projects in recent times is bitumen tile. Unlike traditional tiles made from concrete or molded terracotta, bitumen tiles are made from asphalt combined with some other materials and additives such as fiberglass film and basalt for durability, waterproofing ability, soundproofing – heat insulation are all much higher.
However, in addition to the above advantages, the bitumen roof tile also has a big disadvantage that comes from its flexible nature, which is an advantage in its construction. Due to its flexible nature, before laying bitumen tiles, it is necessary to build a supporting flat roof underneath.
