Sustainability of Remak® XPS
Environment-friendly
Environmental friendliness is one of the leading important factors that make the difference of Remak® XPS compared with other XPS insulation foams. The value of Remak® XPS is not only in energy efficiency, high application, reasonable price, which saves a variety of costs but also in sustainability. This is a green solution for buildings, the environment and ecosystem as well as people.
Remak® XPS is made from clean and safe Polystyrene primary plastic, which does not create any dangerous toxic substances that evaporate during use, being safe for man health.
Remak’s XPS insulation foam sheet uses food grade CO2 to replace HCFC-22 (traditional gas) as an expansion agent in the production line. According to scientists’ estimates, with the change, each year we can reduce up to 460 million tons of CO2 released into the environment, contributing to completely eliminating 100 tons of HCFC-22 in the field of XPS foam production in Vietnam.

On the development journey of nearly 20 years, In addition to the success in investing in building a production plant to proactively prepare source goods and control the quality, Remak also invests in research and development of new green, clean and environmentally friendly materials, replacing those that are not environmentally friendly.
With this goal, by the end of 2022, Remak has successfully produced a new line of soundproof, heat-insulation, waterproof and moisture-proof XPS made of recycled plastic. Remak® XPS made from recycled Polyestyrene has just been released to the market and immediately gained the attention and support from customers. Because they are green materials that contribute to the protection of a sustainable living environment for future generations, have low cost but stable quality, still ensure the function and preeminent features. This is also a solution to help save costs, save energy and natural resources.
According to statistics, the recycling of plastic waste will contribute to reducing up to 18 million tons of CO2 emissions into the environment each year (CO2 pollutes the environment today, causes the earth to warm up and directly affects the people health as well as the global economy.)
Save energy and reduce costs
Remak® XPS foam is the most effective insulation solution for buildings. If applied correctly, the product help cut energy use in half. In Europe, for example, using XPS insulation foam in buildings save roughly of 3.3 million barrels of oil per day.
At the same time, recent studies of newly constructed buildings prove that: commercial buildings using XPS insulation panels with a thickness of 15-18cm can save annual electricity consumption from 343-344KWh /m2 (www.styropor.de). It is equivalent to every year, every 1m2 of XPS insulation used will save about 1,000,000 VND (electricity price 2500 VND/KW). When compared to heating oil consumption, 1kg XPS saves about 400 liters of heating oil over 50 years.
