OTHER SOLUTIONS

In addition to sound and heat insulation solutions for Roofs, Floors, Walls, and Walls, Remak® foam is also widely used in daily life. Here are other applications of Remak® XPS Foam.

Waterproofing swimming pools

Like basement and cellar constructions, pools also need be properly insulated and waterproofed with suitable materials to ensure energy efficiency and stable temperature.

It is widely believed that the temperature mainly exits through the surface of swimming pools. In reality, the side wall and the bottom of pools also lose a considerable amount of heat and are usually neglected. Even when pools are placed on the ground or underground, the side wall and the bottom still transmit their heat to the surrounding environment, especially when in direct contact with the ground

Designed and manufactured in a high-tech production line, Remak® XPS with a closed molecular structure, light weight and environmentally friendly, is an ideal insulation material for pool works. Swimming pool bottom and side wall insulation with Remak® XPS reduces up to 80% heat loss in comparison to pools that do not use this foam.

Unlike other insulation foams, Remak® XPS has extremely low water absorption properties and is resistant to wet environments. Besides, the high mechanical strength allows this material to be in direct contact with the ground and concrete. Remak® XPS does not require a moisture barrier while maintaining thermal performance.

Possessing an effective waterproofing feature, Remak® XPS will prevent groundwater from flowing into pools, affecting the water quality.

Solution for refrigerated trucks

For refrigerated trucks, maintaining a stable temperature and long-lasting freezing temperature is the most essential factor in better preserving goods during delivery. With a super-linked closed molecular structure (closecell), and low thermal conductivity coefficient (0.028 W/mK), XPS foam is currently considered the most suitable heat insulation material for refrigerated trucks. With the advanced extrusion technology, the foam sheet helps minimize heat transfer through the trunk body, maintain the stable temperature inside, and avoid heat loss that causes condensation. Therefore, goods quality is always ensured. The product well works in the temperature range from -50ºC to +75ºC.

Especially, Remak uses food-grade CO2 (which replaces the traditional gas) and an advanced production line to manufacture Remak® foam. As a result, these insulation foam boards do not contain any CFC, HCFC, or toxic substances which can cause irritation, and they are recyclable material.

Remak® XPS can control the moisture level, and improve the durability of the vehicle floor due to its great mildew resistance, and water absorption resistance. XPS is proven to be the only heat insulation foam to work well in a high moisture environment, which minimizes the damage caused by moisture levels.

Core layer for Insulated Doors

Aside from construction applications such as heat & sound insulation material; water resistance for roof, ceiling, floor, foundation, and wall, etc.; XPS rigid foam sheets are also known for its application in making a core layer for insulated doors.

Usually, in application of insulated doors, the core material has to match these demands:

– Size compatibility
– High durability
– Heat and sound prevention
– Fire spread prevention.

XPS is manufactured from a top-notch extrusion technology that creates foam boards with perfectly closed-cell molecular structures, thus, sound transmission is not likely to happen. Regarding some test results (according to TCVN 6851), high-density XPS can reduce noise by up to 65%.

At the same time, XPS also has an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity (0.028W/mK), which minimizes heat transfer through windows and doors. As a result, the temperature in the room is always maintained at a stable level, avoiding heat loss which causes wasted electricity, especially in rooms using air conditioning & cooling equipment, and cold storage rooms, etc. XPS rigid foam can work effectively in the temperature range from -50ºC to +75ºC.

Solution for traffic lane’s foundation

Roads and highways are being built more each year to match the increasing trafficking demands. However, many recently built lanes are possibly constructed on loose or weak soil that cannot bear massive loads and is prone to cracking or subsidence.

Then how to improve the quality of traffic construction and solve the issue mentioned above? A widely used common solution is lightweight Extruded Polystyrene XPS.

With an advanced technology production line and high-quality material resources, Remak has created Remak® XPS foam with ultra-lightweight and bears many outstanding advantages in comparison to other materials, such as: waterproofing ability, mildew resistance, sound and heat insulation, execellent compressive strength, and improved durability.

Remak® XPS holds great heat insulation, which is an important factor as to why this material is used more commonly in road and bridge constructions, especially in places with harsh weather conditions, freezing and snowy weather condition. With the characteristic of perfectly closed-cell molecular structure, low thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.028W/mK… XPS can maintain a stable temperature for the foundation of roads and prevent sudden thermal changes that lead to cracking. The product is also known for its ability to reduce the impact of snow on the road surface, improve the service life of the road, and protect traffic constructions.

Solution for hydroponic vegetable growing

Because of the increasing demands for clean and organic food resources recently, hydroponic vegetable growing system is developing at a considerably fast pace around the world.

This system is simple because of its wide variety of choices in size depending on certain conditions and purposes. For example, it is possible to grow vegetables on a household scale or multiply it on a commercial scale.

Instead of using soil like in traditional farming, this system uses water that contains microorganisms to nourish and help plants grow. To build this system, floating rafts to support plants are indispensable.

Floating rafters are essential to hydroponic vegetable growing systems. They directly determine the quality and quantity of the vegetables. Especially in large-scale hydroponic vegetable systems, this factor also significantly determines the competitive price of products.

With a perfectly closed-cell molecular structure along with many outstanding characteristics such as lightweight, durable, clean, odorless, high compressive strength and water resistance, good corrosive resistance, floatable, low cost…, advanced high-tech extruded Remak® XPS is used more commonly in floating rafters for clean hydroponic vegetables growing application. The foam ensures safety and financial efficiency for farmers.

Insulated air ducts

Air ducts are irreplaceable in modern constructions, especially in buildings with high population density, or in the metropolis. The main mission of the ventilation system is to deliver and filter airflow, remove CO2 out of the building and bring in fresh and clean air.

Nowadays, many different insulation materials are used for air ducts on the market. But the most considerable one is ultra-lightweight Remak® XPS foam manufactured with advanced and innovative extrusion technology.

XPS foam manufactured by Remak holds a list of outstanding characteristics that fully match technical and construction standards in the HVAC field (Heating – Venting – Air Conditioning).

Another notiable advantage of XPS foam is that It’s excellent resistance to moisture, prevents condensation on the vent’s surface. Vents with XPS acting as the core layer can ensure delivery airflow without any condensation on the surface thanks to good moisture resistance and heat insulation. As a result, the risk of molds and bad smell in the ventilation system is reduced.

Furthermore, fire spread resistance is one of the important requirements in many constructions nowadays. Vents insulated by firesafe XPS is a highly recommended solution since XPS can resist fire spread and has high durability. When a fire happens, XPS fireproof vents still operate normally and provide enough clean air, meanwhile prevent smoke from dissipating, and prevent the fire from spreading through the ventilation system to the whole building
